Vivitar TX 24mm f2.8

     Nice lens. It was made by Tokina and it was made very well.  Aperture ranges from f2.8 to f16 in full stops.  Focus ring is somewhat thinner than usual but dampenng is excellent.  It is a TX lens so you need a TX adapter to use it.  They are readily available on Ebay.  On my Eos M3 it handled well.  Focusing is reasonably easy and it balances well.  Since it is a TX lens it has a two aperture runs on the ring.  One direction is auto and the other direction is manual.   When using it on a digital body remember that f2.8 is followed by another set of apertures.  Let's get right to it.  It's sharp.  It's sharp wide open.  Shoot at f2.8 as much as you like.  Fringing is well controlled but remember that it is a 24mm.  Use a lens hood at all times to reduce flare.  Flare will reduce contrast and shift colors.  Bokeh is pleasing because of its near-circular aperture.  Bokeh fringing is practically non existent.  Images take on a wondeful depth when shooting wide open.  This is is great street lens.  Distortion is noticeable w/ straight lines.   It is correctable.  Contrast and shadow detail are excellent at all apertures.  There is no obvious sweet spot so shoot at the aperture you need.  F2.8 is not a handicap.  I did not expect this lens to be this good.  Tokina made a nice little lens.
