Quantaray 500mm f8 Mirror
Most Quantaray lenses were made by Sigma and some were made by Tamron and Tokina. This lens performs like a Sigma Mirror lens. It is reasonably sharp if you can hold it steady. It has the typical ringed bokeh we see from mirror lenses. Contrast is surprisingly high. While it is not a Zeiss or even a Tamron in quality, it is still far better than any of the off-brands flooding the market.

I received my copy from Ebay. Yep, it was full of fungus and the aperture doesn't work because a piece is missing and the ring is damaged. Typical Ebay purchase.
So, it is any good? I cleaned the fungus out but I couldn't do anything with the diaphragm. I shot these pics at f2.8 and they are good.
I can honestly say this lens is usable at f2.8, not like i have a choice, though. It is sharp at f2.8. Color rendition is a bit cool. Contrast is good. Fringing is well controlled. There is some bokeh fringing. Bokeh is very busy.
I'd say it's a steal at $20. If you see one that works, buy it.
