Nikkor AF 28-85 f3.5-4.5

      I've wanted an AF Nikkor 28-85 for many years.   My copy is the first version with the narrow focus ring.   They say it's as good as primes at all focal lengths.   Almost!   At 28mm it is soft in the corners.   At 35mm thru 85mm it is comparable to primes.
