Testing and reviewing an AF Nikkor 50mm f1.8 seems unnecessary but here it is. This is a solid performer. It's sharp, plain and simple. Fringing can be seen at 100% crop when images are shot at f1.8. Bokeh fringing is well controlled. Color rendition is slightly cool but saturation and contrast are excellent at all apertures. Corner sharpness is consistently excellent. Focusing this lens on my T2i is not easy. but these AF lenses are rarely easy to manually focus. This won't matter for most Nikon users.
